A love unspoken of

When I first fell off my bike,

Your hand was there to ease the pain.

And that time I got stuck in the chimney,

There you were again!

I also had that incident with the grilled door,

Only God knows how I got my head in there.

But alike so many times before,

My self targeted snare was only a blade of grass in the field of your care.

You don’t know this,

But it is in those childish Horror’s that a poem is written.

Somewhere deep in those dark empty spaces,

Lies the lines of a poem in my voice, void of ears to listen.

I don’t know if you noticed,

But alike you, I am a man of few words.

I speak in the midst of great noise

Just so I may not be heard.

But somewhere in my sociophobia

Is a great truth be told.

So when you do read this,

Be silent and let the truth unfold.

I carry your name around with great dignity and pride,

I spell my last name backwards

So that the syllables indicate your presence in front of me

Yet right by my side .

I carry your 7 letter name

Everyday of the week,

I recite it in baritone

So the atmosphere may be silent when I speak!

You taught me to be elegant

Without having spoke of elegance.

You taught me to love

Without word on romance.

Subliminal messages I still live by.

I will carry your name around as I live to be a better you,

A promise I’d made on many a cold winter night

That I realise how much I love you,

And turn down the lights.

I don’t think you know this,

But you made me believe in myself on day’s it felt out of reach.

You don’t know this,

But somewhere in your arms I found my mother.

Somewhere along the fabric of time,

Scars from my cuts, wounds and burns,

Rebuke engraved on my heart,

tells the story of how deprived I was of a mother.

But somewhere in between the lines of this poem,

Lies the description of who she is

Somewhere deep in my unspoken love

In the heart of the son he doesn’t know he has

Is a great love for my #Phather!

Happy Father’s Day!
