An Anthem (A poem by Phanuel Ayelum)

Is a letter

Is a word

And I,

I am word,

Uttered by the poetic force

That uttered words in a word!

Am artistic.

Not because of the poetry,

Not because of the music,

But because my existence

Originates from something much bigger

Than present day logic.

Am the completion

Of the word L-“I”-F-E

Am the absolution

Of the life I lead.

Am the determinant

Of my day everyday.

And so- I

Will S-M-“I”-L-E

And be Aweso-me

Because they can’t spell Awesome,

Without “me”

Am the best version of me possible,

The masses may hate-

No-one really likes the incomprehensible!

Will still love,

Will still live to be

“I” and me!
