Letter to Jayda (A poem by Phanuel Ayelum)

Dear Jayda;

I will forever be in awe-

Of your existence.

I once thought of it as mythical

Pardon my ignorance.

A heart so big;

Funny it would fit in your chest.

How could something so massive

Ever be compressed?

I’d gazed deep into your eyes;

And guess what I found-

A spell that left me enchanted

Yet hoping it would always be around.

You are the spell in a tale

In my tale of a spell.

It didn’t matter whether the boat floats,

Your magic would carry our sails.

A soul so kind;

That it’s one of a kind.

I’m forever stunned

That God had you in mind.

I love you

And this time it’s not a metaphor.

I can mention with certainty,

That you are one thing I’m highly grateful for!

Perhaps;

It wouldn’t be enough to wish you a happy birthday.

However, the one wish I will make

Is for you to be happy everyday!

Yours truly,

Love Ayelum…….

      3. Maybe not strange, perhaps unusual…. But the truth is, I think, help, comfort or support are somewhat boundless. It can come to you from, just about anywhere if you keep an open mind….
