A Place Beyond Curiosity (A poem by Phanuel Ayelum)

I wonder what it’s like –

In the great beyond…

Does the music still play?

Do the angels sing your favourite songs?

Do you get the peace

Wished upon you by the living?

Could you identify with it?

Do you carry emotions and feelings?

Are you in the company

Of they that left before you?

Do you love them the same?

Are their souls still beautiful?

Do you experience

The passing of time?

The fall of the sands?

Does it pass you by?

Do you have language?

Do you have poetry?

Are you truly without thought?

Holding no memory?

Curiosity is for the living –

So I guess I’ll never know.

And these answers I seek,

Someday God to me will show.
