Past, Future and Present (A poem by Phanuel Ayelum)

Yesterday is gone;

Lost in time.

I know nothing of tomorrow,

But the present is mine.

Yesterday taught;

What today must know,

What today must learn to learn-

Before tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s a mystery;

For all I know, it’s unknown.

A tale untold,

An image not shown.

Tomorrow is blank;

As blank as was this paper.

Yet carefully being orchestrated,

By divine nature.

The present is a gift;

That explains its name.

There will be non other like it,

And it will leave as it came.

The present is special;

So I’ll live in the moment.

Tomorrow, this will be yesterday’s poem,

And I’ll be glad I wrote it…
